Foundation Stones
Willamette Christian Center is a committed group of Christians who are seeking to follow Jesus. Our weekly gatherings, outlook on life, and desire to touch our world effectively are shaped by five points of focus we call our foundation stones. These stones form the basis of our life together.
Our first foundation stone is WORSHIP.
“Distinguished by His Presence" Unlike any other gathering of people, the church is to be uniquely distinguished by the Presence of the Lord. More than anything, we want to be known as a congregation where all can find the Presence of the Living Lord.
Our second foundation stone is RELATIONSHIP.
"Building People not Systems." The Church is people; and the Lord is intensely interested in building individuals. Systems and structures only have significance as they help and encourage people. Our corporate responses are aimed at this central truth.
Our third foundation stone is DISCIPLESHIP.
“Make Disciples.” We are focused on this command from our Lord. Disciples are defined biblically as those who follow, imitate and stay forever committed to Jesus Christ. It is our sincere prayer and fervent desire that all who come near us will be called to, and grow in, the privileged relationship described by the phrase "disciples of the Lord."
Our fourth foundation stone is MINISTRY.
“Recognizing and Releasing Ministry." Every Christian is called to a place of effective, rewarding and fruitful ministry. Our church leadership and congregation are committed to helping each believer find their place of service for the glory of God and the good of all.
Our fifth foundation stone is EVANGELISM.
"Seeking and Receiving the Lost" God regards as lost all who have never made a deliberate, personal commitment to Christ Jesus. Since we share the deep and abiding joy of being found (restored to right relationship with the Lord), we count it a great privilege to warmly welcome and consistently invite all people to put their faith and trust in the Savior.
